Meeting Report

March 10, 2007

We had 20 people attend our March 10th meeting at the Avery Creek Community center. This included several new and returning members. WELCOME.

Teresa started the meeting with business announcing exciting plans for the April Anniversary/Clay Day Meeting. There will be an auction fundraiser, Potluck lunch, bead jar give away, clay games and more. 9-5 April 14th. It's going to be a big all day clay party!

Barb VL reminded us the deadline for signing up for the Marla Frankenberg workshop is March 20.

Sharon S. shared info about Amaco Bottles of Hope. Details can be found by going to www.amaco.com and clicking on the Bottles of Hope link.

After business our enthusiastic crowd shared introductions, show and tell and challenge stuff. One member showed a new enameling powder available from Artz Company (artzcompany.com). Another shared fusible fibers called Fantasy Fibers from Clay Alley. Both look like too much fun. Cards from our Valentine swap were brought to show off. As usual too many neat show and tell things to list them all. (Did anyone get pictures?)

After a short break Barb VL demonstrate different ways to apply foil to raw clay for a metallic look. Maggie showed 3 easy ways to make faux jade. After the demo we went back to our clay to try out our new knowledge and socialize. Some of us went shopping in all the stuff Jan brought for the sale table.

What a great, busy meeting! Thanks to all that shared and demonstrated.

The challenge for next month is eggs.
