There were 12 people in attendance at the meeting held at the Avery Creek Community Center. Pat opened the meeting with business and announcements:
Clay Quest 2005 is next weekend.
No meeting in December.
Those who drew a name for the secret Holiday post card swap are to send them some time in December.
Our next meeting, in January, will be back to basics and officers elections. There will be no challenge for January.
Barbara VL spoke about upcoming workshops:
Dayle Doroshow – May 20-21 - We have to choose from 4 or 5 different methods she teaches. More to follow from Barb on this. E-mail if you are interested in her class at gvernilau5@aol.com
Donna Kato – we are waiting on a date.
Then we had show and tell.
Barbara also has a great idea for a project for our group. "Doors of Asheville" is a fund raising event for The Neighborhood Housing Services of Asheville. Various organizations create art on doors of various sizes. They are then auctioned off to help with the cost of building houses for people in need. We would have about a year to make tiles. Let us know if you want to participate.
Then on to show & tell and Challenge. Barbara VL gave her show and tell away in a drawing.
Then on to the demos. Kay fascinated us with her take on Louise Fisher-Cozzi's etched polymer clay technique and Barbara S. had all of our attention for her PMC demo. Thank you both.
