April 9, 2005

This was our anniversary meeting, so Happy Birthday to the BRPCG! We're 6 years old!

There were 20 people in attendance. Pat opened the meeting with business.

Barbara Verni-Lau and the workshop committee have been very busy. She has a whole list of class opportunities lined up. Marilyn Davenport is teaching Mica Shift on Sunday, May 1, at Michaels in Asheville. Barbara McGuire is teaching at the Avery Creek Community Center on April 22 from 5 - 8 pm. There are several other workshops to schedule. Please see our web site for more info.

Clay Day is April 23rd. There will be a raffle of a gift basket that has been donated by Michaels and other goodies. If you would like to participate in the make-and-take of faux enamel pins using liquid polymer clay, there will be a supply list posted on the web site. Lunch is a "covered dish," so bring something to share.

The challenge for May will be "hollow."

Then we had show and tell on our Skinner blend projects.

Tips: "Fishin' Glue" is great stuff. It's found in stores where they sell fishing supplies.
Ben Franklin now sells Kato Clay.

We then had the annual drawing for the bead jar. Congratulations Laurie Privette!

Irene started off our texture demo, and we went around and showed any texture items we had. Karen Heggen presented her large collection of texture materials. Very enthusiastic and thorough. I'm sure that she inspired others to try more texture. Great job, Karen! We then broke up to share all the great textures.
