The meeting was held at the Avery Creek Community Center, Aug. 14th.
We had 6 new faces: Bob Carwane, Barbara Dolcimascolo, Barb Verni-Lau, Claudia Starkovich, Ann Boufgeois and Debbie Kent. Four of whom decided to join right away. Welcome! Also in attendance were Pat Smith, Irene, Nancy, Marion, Kay, Marilyn, Ellen, Karen, Teresa, Gail, and Maggie.
Pat Smith started the meeting with introductions. Then on to business.
I (Maggie) was asked to be secretary.
We have nice new business cards. If anyone wants to take a few to pass out please let me know.
I will also be contacting newspapers to place ads for the guild. If you know of a local paper in your area that will put a free ad please send me the contact information.
Due to prior poor attendance and increased meeting room cost there will not be a December meeting.
Clay Day is October 30th. The fee is $10. We will need 10 people to sign up and pay by the September meeting in order to cover room cost and be able to proceed. It's a great opportunity to work on things you don't usually have the time to and spend the day with other creative people.
The September meeting is a project meeting - clocks!
The challenge of the month: Find a bead or photo of a bead, copy or re-interpret it in clay and bring it and the original to the next meeting.
SWAP your challenge beads. If you are like me and can't make just one please contact Pat Smith by the end of this week if you want to join.
We passed around the bug challenge and show and tell. Too many great things to list. Photos were taken by Irene.
Marilyn then started her demo. She showed all types of canes from simple checks to fancy feathers and all in between. She even gave us hand out sheets with examples. Great demo Marilyn! Thank you again.
What a great meeting! Hope I didn't forget anything or anybody.

Of course, we have to do some socializing.
Pat brought the bugs she received in a recent internet Bug Swap.
