Meeting Report

January 10, 2004

At 12:10 Maggie Westall started our meeting by going around the room and having everyone introduce themselves. It took quite a while as there were many new faces in the room. Irene Dean collected dues in Kay's place. Yearly dues of $20.00 are now due for 2004.

Next on the agenda was to have everyone show their fish challenge. Some very interesting, beautiful and cute fish had their picture taken by Irene.

New Officers were elected unanimously into place.

  • President - Pat Smith

  • Vice Pres/Demo Coordinator - Irene Semanchuk Dean

  • Treasurer - Kay Bonitz

  • Secretary - Barbara Stock

  • Librarian - Gail Jolly

  • Workshop Coordinator - Linda Meckle

  • Co-coordinator - Marion

After the elections we got into the fun stuff. Clay demonstrations were done by: Pat - on different kinds of clay, Irene - baking and tools, Pat - shaping clay, Irene - glues, Maggie - Pigment powders and finishes, Irene - finishing your polymer clay, Nancy - buffing wheel and dremel tool and protecting your face and eyes, Maggie - Varnishes, Maggie - techniques on the skinner blend, Suzanne - Natasha bead, Marilyn - Bicone beads with textures, Sue - Canework - jellyroll cane & stacked cane, Marilyn - bulls eye cane, Irene - mokume gane.

As you can see it was a full and extremely informative program. Thank you to all who demonstrated and passed on their knowledge to all of us beginners.
