We met in a new building which worked quite well. We had a great meeting and received lots of good information about selling your work!
Basic business points covered:
Gail brought in a new Krause book catalog.
Grovewood show: we discussed various ways of improving the show. We discussed displays and whether like items should be grouped together or the items should be grouped by artist. Opinions varied.
Most people there were very interested in finding other similar shows we could do as a group. Gail is going to check at the library about art display space, as well as with the Asheville Art Museum.
We have also realized that we need someone to act as a "Hospitality" person to help make new people welcome. We need a volunteer!
Information about specific teachers and classes is being assembled so that the group can vote on which of the teachers we prefer as a group. There will be more information later on the classes.
There was some interest in a photographer but more information needs to be gathered. Does anyone know of a professional photographer in the Asheville area that might be interested?
Next month's challenge:
Create something articulated..something with a moving part or parts. Anything, as long as some part of it can move. Have fun!
