MEETING REPORTS

July 13, 2002

We had a small but enthusiastic group this month, about seven regulars and two newcomers. One guest was Sue Cannella (otherwise know as Vanilla) who showed us pictures of her beautiful dolls. I think she said she found out about us because of the Grovewood show (yeay!). The other guest was Joyce Samuel, who does wonderful bracelets (hopefully next time she will bring some to show us!)

We opened with glowing stories about the Grovewood show. Almost everyone had sales and checks were passed out 8-) We retrieved our work and tried to say thanks to the folks who did such a stellar job. Kudos to all who participated.

Many of us brought things for our monthly challenge and pictures were taken of much of it. Gail showed us her scarf-holders; Maggie, Susan and Edie all showed us wonderful necklaces. (Maggie also brought her birthday necklace) I (Byrd) brought my watch-bracelets.

Karen Massie then did her demo of her version of Mokume Gane. Most of us promptly sat down and tried our version of her version and very pretty things were seen.

We talked about what to do for upcoming meetings and a couple of suggestions for demos were proposed.
