August 10, 2002 The meeting started out with the usual chatter and exchanges. Lynda Meckel from Charlotte visited for the first time and showed beautiful beaded dolls she had done. We then had The Fork Challenge. Gail made fork distressed jewelry. Marion made a BIG fork handle, a tiny plate of peanut butter cookies from clay and a real plate of peanut butter cookies to eat. Yum and thanks. Karen Massey was kind enough to take photos so hopefully all that missed the meeting can see them. Byrd showed handfuls of tumbled beads, watch bands, wire and polymer clay critters and a herd of turtles. Pat Smith showed off her tiny Kato clay mouse by first throwing it on the floor as we all gasped. It was suggested that next month's challenge be to use a twig or tree branch somehow with pc. Marilyn then demo-ed her beautiful flowers. Thank you Marilyn. I enjoyed and was inspired by it. I hope I haven't forgotten anything. If I have would someone fill in the gaps. Hope to see more of you guys next time. submitted by Maggie Westall, August 13, 2002 |
